We use Altitude by Geotab to support our work for local, regional and provincial agencies evaluating commercial vehicle movements and policies to support the decision-making process. The BC Truck Survey, which analyzes the movement of commercial goods across the province leveraged aggregated feet date and field collection to create a comprehensive picture of how goods move through key corridors and regions in British Columbia.

This effort is a collaborative partnership—Altitude by Geotab provides comprehensive data, and we contribute our engineering, transportation planning and filed data collection expertise to interpret and apply that information effectively. Together, this integration of technology and domain knowledge helps inform infrastructure planning, policy development, and the optimization of commercial transportation networks.

Our goal is to empower industry and government stakeholders with deeper, data-driven insights that lead to smarter infrastructure and planning decisions. By understanding how datasets like those from Altitude by Geotab work—particularly their province-wide data—we’re able to extract meaningful trends about the movement of commercial goods.

This insight helps us inform more strategic, evidence-based decisions around transportation infrastructure and policy. Aggregated data sets provide a broader, more accurate snapshot of commercial activity, enabling better prioritization of investments and initiatives.
