LOCUS is a location intelligence company that transforms disparate, complex, and siloed data into reliable measures of how people interact with the built environment. Our LOCUS platform has been developed by a team of industry leaders in transportation planning and travel demand forecasting who understand truck usage patterns. LOCUS Truck data have been used to support truck models in Phoenix, Utah, New York and California, truck parking studies in California, and New Mexico, freight plans in Colorado, and household surveys in Houston and Colorado, among many other applications.

Our commercial vehicle movement product provides expanded and validated origin-destination trip data for light, medium, and heavy truck sources at varying levels of geographic specificity throughout the country by transforming sample telematics data using behavioral determinants of travel. The data are processed, validated, and where necessary aggregated. We do this by using Altitude data and other sources of land use, built-environment such as ports, warehouses and distribution centers, economic, and demographic data to create accurate measures of total truck travel flow.

Our LOCUS platform provides out-of-the box access to fully expanded trip information of commercial vehicles combined with information on the built environment, which allows our customers to gain previously unavailable data-driven insights to address challenges and questions about resilience, economic recovery, safety, truck parking, freight network performance and electrification – challenges that have a big impact on society and are often accompanied by high capital and operational costs.
